Eco-city Blueprint

Good urban planning can create a good living space and good quality of life. Taipei City is the capital, rich in resources and a good natural environment, if it can be well planned and implemented, it not only can create a happy living space for residents, but also become a model city. Taipei City already has a good international city conditions, but a beautiful eco-city has too many goals to pursue, such as education and culture, industrial economy, ecological environment, transportation, social security, living space, energy saving, social welfare , population structure and so on. These are the goals and conditions that ecological cities need to achieve.

In the past few decades of urban development, the early urban development in Taipei City started from the perspective of human interests but neglected the mutual symbiosis between man and nature, resulting in the sacrifice of our ecological environment. In recent years, there is a growing awareness of environmental protection. With the government's lead promotion and advocacy, ecological parks and energy-saving facilities have been planned and set up to let people know the importance of ecological protection. In addition to the government's clear development plan, eco-cities must still be built together with residents, businesses and communities. At present, Taipei City wants to be a truly eco-city, there is still long way to go. However, from our visits and interviews, we have seen that the city is changing and moving toward the goal of an eco-city. All these changes are the fruits of hard work and dedication by the government and people. As long as the government and people continue to work together, I believe Taipei will inevitably become an eco-city and a model for sustainable development in the near future.
