A. How to maintain the ecological environment of wetlands and species conservation?

Answer: Guandu Nature Park wetland reserves already have a sound system of maintenance and management, so that wetlands can be effectively protected. At present, many rare wildlife and birds have been well protected in the reserve. Every week, volunteers take turns to weed, sort, patroll the protected areas regularly and inspect for the presence of foreign species. Employees will observe and record wetlands and collect statistics on all kinds of animals, plants and birds and report them as a reference for ecological conservation. The protection of wetlands and the conservation of biodiversity are the common responsibility of all and require the support and common protection of all people.



B. After the establishment of the Guandu Nature Park, how did the park create a "ecological corridor connecting wetlands to the park?"

Answer: The purpose of setting up the Guandu Nature Park is not just a general park but an important natural learning center. The park plans to preserve the landscape of pristine and natural wetlands as much as possible. The planning of the park uses ecologically-oriented wetlands and introduces the concept of "eco-corridor" to connect parks, green spaces and ecological conservation and rehabilitation areas. After years of planning in succession, it is divided into four areas: outdoor observation area, core conservation area, major facilities area and sustainable operation area. Through the planting of native species, re-breeding of various ecological ponds, the crab trail establishment, demonstration of ecological display aquatic environment and underwater display, ecological display with seasonal theme, modeling of water quality improvement, education of paddy fields, and establishment of a distinctive brand of introduction and explanation, "ecological corridor of the Guandu Nature Park" is set up.


C. In the ecological environment, what is the role and function of Guandu Natural Park in Taipei?

Answer: The functions of wetland is like the kidneys of the earth, which preserve the nutrients in the water, purify water, save floods and drought, regulate climate and protect the coast. Wetlands are also a habitat for biodiversity, which protect many of the rare and endangered wildlife species and is the best ecosystems on the planet. In the past, due to urban development, industrial waste water and domestic waste water threatened the environment of the Guandu Wetland. Since 1980s, the civil protection groups run aggressively, and prompt the Taipei City government to set up " Guandu waterfowl conservation area." Now, Guandu Natural Park is not only the most intact wetland land in Taipei, but also an important conservation research and education work and a close place for nature in Taipei.


D. After the establishment of Guandu Natural Park, how does the park combine the functions of leisure, ecology, tourism and education so that parks and public life can be more integrated?


Answer: We hope to create the "Nature Museum" with diverse wetlands and ecological environment in the Guandu Nature Park. Therefore, there is a display hall in the park displaying the display facilities of the Guandu cultural and wetland theme. Rich wetland ecology is the most abundant natural resources and the best display space, which provids people with a good field of education, leisure and ecological rehabilitation show. Therefore, the function of the Guandu Natural Park is already explored, rich and accessible to the environmental learning areas, such as visits, guided tours, parent-child camps and children's camps, so that more parents and children can experience, understanding of wetland functions and vitality through their eyes, ears and hands, and understand that the natural environment is so beautiful and harmonious.



E. Will the park continue to expand wetlands or park facilities in the future?

Answer: In the future, more "marine wetlands" and "riverbank wetlands" are expected to be created, so as to enhance biodiversity, conserve the ecological environment and protect natural resources. We also look forward to combining more resources, expanding the park facilities, increasing the experience activities and commentary activities, providing a more diversified learning environment and becoming an important ecological city in Taipei's development foundation.
