Shanshuilu Eco Park, formerly known as the Mountain Pig grottoes landfill. In May 1993, the construction of the Landfill Grottoes landfill started construction in June next year, officially opened. An area of about 65 hectares, burial area of 30 hectares, 2011 has been no longer buried to deal with waste. Buried areas, through greening and recuperation, turned into green space, and the original landfill of the landscape now is very different. Now it turned into a leisure ecological park.
Ecological Park was officially opened in 2013.

The park has a large parking space, public toilets, coffee huts, overlooking the gallery, observation deck, children's play area, tourist center and other recreational facilities. It is a suitable family trip park attractions. The park is suitable for cycling, hiking and grass-field exercise, and visitors can enjoy relaxing there. Rehabilitation of stream streams in the park is carried out in the way of wild brooks. Rehabilitation project is based on eco-friendly point of view, and use engineering techniques and plantation greening and other ways to effectively create an ecological environment. It has attracted a variety of conservation birds, such as the Great Crested Eagle, Taiwan blue magpie, come to habitat. It is the best place to enjoy watching animal and plant ecology.

A number of park facilities are built by using the original abandoned facilities. The park has a visitor center, children's play area, viewing platform, gazebo display area and other leisure facilities. The eco-friendly wall of the visitor center was constructed from an iron-aluminum can that was recovered early, and allow us to understand the importance of recycling. The Center has set up a series of graphic explanations on various types of environmental education demonstrations, the history of landfills and the achievements made by Taipei in implementing resource recovery and waste reduction policies, which have the significance of natural education. Here you can enjoy the recreation and have a ecological knowledge trip.

Park is full of green space, hard to imagine once used to be landfill.
The successful replacement of the Shanzi Grottoes landfill has changed the negative impression we have of the messy and stench of landfills in the past. Now it is surrounded by green, and becomes a model ecological park.
