A. What motivation did you want to promote a low-carbon community?

Answer: Originally because the community environment is dirty, so I want to make the community environment clean, and become an energy-saving and carbon-reduction community in the context of environmental protection. In fact, our community in the scenic area of the Ancestral Rock, in which are many green environment, amd can purify the air quality, providing community residents a good leisure space. So I started to transform the community environment. The success of a low carbon community contribute to volunteers’teamwork.


B. Is there any difficulty in promoting low-carbon communities?

Answer: Yes. Initially in the planning community, we faced the problem of illegal construction and rubbish. When dealing with illegal buildings, those who occupy the vested interests insist on it, so we use a variety of ways to communicate and coordinate with them. It took a long time to explain to them that the reason is that we hope the community environment will be better and the community residents will have a better living space. Therefore, many people think that the concept of our planning is very good, Some of the residents who are rehabilitated will begin to feel comfortable with us to make improvements. In the end, we all reached a consensus and more and more people began to support the plan of low-carbon communities. In addition, we also clean up rubbish in every corner of the community. The residents are happy not to dispose of them by themselves. They have finally solved the problem of rubbish which has been accumulated for a long time and have also beautified the surroundings.


C. How do community residents work together and collaborate to create a low-carbon community?

Answer: We start with ourselves. When you are serious and hardworking, people will see your results. The community environment will not be the same as before, and others will be moved gradually. Some people will take the initiative to help. Originally, we were planners. Later, the residents who joined were originally from assistants to beginners as planners. Since we often invite teachers to start classes, they learned a lot of knowledge and problem-solving methods in the process, such as how to arrange flowers and plants in the garden. As residents continue to grow, later became part of the planning community. In fact, in the process I learned a lot of experience from them and increased my wisdom. Therefore, the low-carbon community is to make continuous efforts to make continuous progress.


D. After becoming a low-carbon community, what changes and impacts will be brought to the community and residents?

Answer: In the past, community residents often complained to me that they were rubbish everywhere and sometimes the air smells when they opened the windows. Next to our community is a mountain, so there are pests, which like dirty things. Pests disappeared after we cleared the rubbish and planted a lot of plants and flowers. Later, we added some trails in the mountains to beautify the environment and to achieve the effect of exercise so that residents would live in a healthy and environment-friendly environment.


E. Did you reference or learn about other low-carbon communities?

Answer: From the very beginning, I will take our residents to observe some successful low-carbon communities and absorb their advantages and disadvantages. In addition, I will also listen to the opinions of residents. What are the advantages? What are the shortcomings? How to improve? Is there any place worth learning? We will collect information, and go visit. Finally, the successful experiences of these low-carbon communities are combined, and we start to think about how our own community should plan and make full use of the resources to become characteristic communities.


F. Is there any place to be strengthened?

Answer: The future goal is energy-efficient green building, so that everyone’s house can be more healthy and more environmentally friendly. In addition, we must also strengthen the community's green energy facilities, for example, all the lights will change into LED lights, additional solar power generation will be set up. Finally, we need to keep learning and community residents grow together. We hope that residents who have not yet joined can join. In fact, when some residents came out as volunteers in the community, they began to feel happier and the smile on their faces increased. They also became more healthy.
